Sensual Sci-Fi: All About Pragmata

Capcom’s Pragmata was first revealed in 2020, but after several delays, it’s now aiming for a 2026 release. The game caught attention again after Summer Game Fest 2025, where new footage was shown. While the gameplay and setting are clearly futuristic, there are still a lot of unanswered questions. Even now, Pragmata feels like a mystery. But here’s everything we know so far.

The game is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It will not release on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. It was originally scheduled for 2022, then 2023, and now 2026.

Set in a dystopian future, Pragmata follows an astronaut named Hugh and a young android girl named Diana. They’re on a broken-down moon base filled with malfunctioning technology. The story seems to focus on survival, artificial intelligence, and uncovering what happened to Earth and humanity. In the latest footage, Hugh and Diana are shown running from rogue machines and strange energy fields, all while exploring a sci-fi world that mixes technology and isolation.

The world feels cold and empty. Robots attack on sight. There are strange environmental puzzles and sequences where players need to quickly switch between action and hacking. Hugh is the main playable character, and Diana supports him with her abilities. She can manipulate digital systems and even hack enemies during combat. Her role looks central to both gameplay and story.

The tone is serious, but not dark. Diana is designed to feel human, even though she’s a robot. The way she talks, reacts, and helps Hugh in battle gives her a more emotional side. She’s not just a tool. She feels like a partner. Hugh is older, quiet, and protective. There’s a clear bond between the two, though the game hasn’t explained where they came from or why they’re on the moon in the first place.

There’s also a mysterious group or corporation involved. In the trailers, we see a name—Delphi Corporation—connected to strange science and artificial intelligence. It’s not clear if they created Diana, or if they’re the reason everything is falling apart. This adds to the bigger mystery about what Pragmata is really about.

At the moment, Capcom has only released short clips and trailers. They’ve kept the full gameplay structure secret. But based on what was shown, Pragmata seems to be a mix of exploration, puzzle-solving, third-person shooting, and stealth. There’s also an emphasis on using Diana’s powers to control machines or solve environment-based problems.

The game’s look and feel are very polished. Capcom is clearly using the RE Engine, which powered Resident Evil Village and Devil May Cry 5. The lighting, animations, and detail in environments suggest Pragmata is built as a next-gen game from the ground up. The moon base itself looks huge and broken. Gravity seems to play a part in how players move around the space. Some scenes show floating debris and zero-gravity movement, adding to the sci-fi feel.

The delays have been frustrating for fans. Capcom hasn’t said much over the last few years. The most recent update confirmed the 2026 release window but gave no solid date. This makes Pragmata one of the most delayed games in Capcom’s modern lineup. It was first teased as a major launch title for PS5, but now it’s arriving years into the console’s life cycle.

Capcom released a statement alongside the delay:

“It is with a heavy heart that we must further postpone the release of Pragmata. Our team is hard at work making the best game possible, and we appreciate your patience and support.”

That’s the most direct comment fans have received in years. There’s still no info on multiplayer, difficulty options, or how long the campaign will be. But fans are watching closely. Some have even suggested there could be connections to older Capcom games like Mega Man, especially because of Diana’s blue sleeve and hacking abilities. Capcom hasn’t confirmed anything.

The game is still in active development, and it seems like Capcom is preparing a bigger marketing push as we get closer to 2026. Until then, fans are left with speculation, trailers, and gameplay breakdowns from events like Summer Game Fest. With so little official information, the community has filled in the gaps with their own theories and guesses.

Pragmata could end up as one of Capcom’s most ambitious titles. It’s built on new tech, new characters, and a setting that steps away from the company’s usual horror or action themes. Whether it becomes a hit or fades out will depend on how much Capcom reveals in the next year. For now, this is all about Pragmata: a mysterious sci-fi game with a long delay and even longer list of questions.
