Supercell and Netflix Are Making a Clash of Clans Animated Series
No one saw this coming — Supercell has suddenly announced a collaboration with Netflix: an animated series based on Clash of Clans is officially in the works.
The project is still in early pre-production, so there aren’t many details yet. However, it has already been confirmed that Fletcher Moules will serve as the showrunner, shaping the direction and tone of the series.
Supercell also released a short teaser showing how the development team prepared for the announcement. At the very end of the video, fans got a glimpse of the first promotional poster. More details are expected to be revealed later.
Clash of Clans is a legendary mobile strategy game developed by the Finnish studio Supercell. It launched in 2012, first on iOS and later on Android. The game revolves around building your own village, training an army, raiding other players, and defending your base. It quickly became one of the most successful mobile games of all time, building a massive global fanbase.
The game remains one of the most profitable mobile titles in industry history:
- Since its 2012 release, Clash of Clans has generated over $10 billion in revenue for Supercell.
- In the first two years alone, it was earning over $1 million per day.
- More than a decade later, it still ranks among the top-grossing apps on both the App Store and Google Play.
- Most of its revenue comes from in-game purchases, especially gems used to speed up construction and train troops.
- Despite being a free-to-play title, Supercell’s monetization model is incredibly effective — a small percentage of paying users drive massive profits.
Clash of Clans is one of the rare mobile games that not only achieved explosive early success but managed to maintain strong revenue for over a decade. With such a devoted fanbase, Supercell could earn big even without bringing in new audiences — but the Netflix adaptation might do both. There’s no plot or release date yet, but fans are already eager to see what’s coming.
