Priced at $69.99, this edition includes the base game along with all DLC released to date—covering story expansions, character packs, skins, and more. As with past Mortal Kombat titles, MK1 has steadily expanded its roster with a mix of classic fighters and pop culture crossovers, from Omni-Man (Invincible) to Ghostface (Scream).

💰 Already Own the Game? Here's How to Upgrade

If you already own just the base game, you can grab the Definitive Edition Upgrade for $59.99. While the base game is still listed at $49.99, digital sales often bring it down to $19.99 or lower, making the upgrade route more affordable for newcomers.

🔮 Is This the End of MK1 Support?

While Ed Boon, co-creator of the series, tweeted last fall that NetherRealm is “fully committed” to supporting MK1 for the long term, the launch of a Definitive Edition often signals a winding down of new content.

That has fans speculating: Will there be a Kombat Pack 3? Or is this truly the final chapter?

For context, Mortal Kombat 11 received its last DLC two years after launch, so a similar timeline would make this a natural endpoint for MK1. Still, many players expected a longer post-launch roadmap.

We’ve contacted Warner Bros. and NetherRealm for clarification and will update once we hear back.

🧪 What’s Next for NetherRealm?

No official word yet, but Boon previously hinted the studio knew its next project even before MK1 was revealed. Whether that’s a new Mortal Kombat, another Injustice, or an entirely new IP remains to be seen.

Until then, MK1: Definitive Edition is now the complete experience—whether you're a longtime fan or stepping into the fight for the first time.
