In the first quarter of the year, the team focused on fixing critical issues, which resulted in the release of two major patches and several hotfixes. As the studio emphasized, community feedback will remain a key part of the improvement process moving forward.

Here’s what GSC Game World plans to focus on in the second quarter:

  • Beta release of the Mod SDK, including integration with Steam Workshop and Mod.io, expanding opportunities for user-created modifications.
  • Improvements to the A-Life system: human enemies will make better use of cover, attack from flanks more intelligently, and carry fewer grenades to balance combat encounters. Meanwhile, mutants will learn to scavenge corpses and react more naturally to threats.
  • Loot collection from mutants will become available, adding extra motivation for exploration.
  • An option to skip shader compilation will be introduced, helping players get into the game faster after updates.
  • An expanded storage menu for easier inventory management.
  • Ultra-wide monitor support, offering an improved experience for players using wide displays.
  • The addition of two new weapon types to the in-game arsenal.
  • Continuous stability, optimization, and bug-fixing updates aimed at improving overall gameplay.

In addition, the studio reminded players about the upcoming next-gen update for the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. trilogy. Currently, the classic titles are available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series via backward compatibility, but native versions for both consoles are expected to launch soon.

GSC Game World also noted that all major updates will undergo internal testing and a closed beta phase with community participation to ensure content quality and stability.
