The Last of Us Part 2 Remaster on PC: Update Fixes Bugs and Save Issues

The release of The Last of Us Part 2 remaster on PC went much smoother than the launch of the first part, which faced a host of issues after its 2023 debut. However, some minor bugs still managed to slip through, and developers Naughty Dog, in collaboration with Nixxes, have quickly set to work on fixing them.

A new update (version 1.0.10407.714) for PC is now available for download. While this update doesn’t bring major changes, it addresses several issues that players reported during the first week after the release. The primary focus was on improving stability, controls, and graphics.

Full list of changes:

  • Mouse input improvements for better detection of subtle aiming movements.
  • The "High Clarity" slider now offers better control over sharpness enhancement.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when playing at 1440p resolution with medium volumetric quality settings.
  • Fixed a crash that could happen during erratic mouse movements in the menu before starting a new game.

Despite these fixes, Naughty Dog assures fans that this is not the final update. Nixxes representatives stated that they will continue working on improvements, though no specific date for the next major patch has been revealed.

In addition, the update also applies to the PS5 version (patch 2.0.1). This patch fixes an issue introduced in 2.0.0, where some players lost progress with unlocked items—skills, additional holsters, and skins. Naughty Dog acknowledged the problem and released a fix that restores the lost content.

However, there’s a catch. If the save file was created before April 3rd, there will be no issues. For players who overwrote their saves after patch 2.0.0, some items may still be lost. Naughty Dog had previously advised not to touch saves until a fix was released, and while the issue has been partially addressed with this patch, the problem is not fully resolved. The studio is currently working on a separate fix for the No Return mode, where players reported missing skins.

The developers have promised continued improvements, and fans can expect further patches to enhance the gaming experience.

You can buy The Last of Us Part 2 remaster on Steam for $49.99.
