Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 1: New Monsters, Social Areas, and More Coming April 3rd!
Monster Hunter Wilds is gearing up for its first big content drop since launch, and it’s packed with new challenges, gear, and features. The highly anticipated Title Update 1 is set to launch on April 3rd, and Capcom’s recent showcase revealed all the juicy details.
If you’ve been hunting monsters since the game’s release, there’s a lot to get excited about. Let’s dive into what’s coming with this update!
New Monsters: Mizutsune, Rey Dau (Gamma), and Zoh Shia

First off, Mizutsune, the bubbly, slippery menace first introduced in Monster Hunter Generations, is making his return in Wilds. Available to players at Hunter Rank 21 and above, Mizutsune will bring some serious chaos to the battlefield with his signature bubbly attacks. To unlock his introductory mission, head over to Kanya in the forest. As usual, take him down to farm materials for new Hunter and Palico gear.
For those looking to push their limits, there’s also the arch-tempered Rey Dau (Gamma), which comes as part of a limited-time Event Quest running from April 30th to May 21st (BST). You’ll need to be at Hunter Rank 50 to take on this bad boy, but the rewards are worth it. Once you’ve defeated him, you can craft the new Rey Day (Gamma) and Felyne Rey Dau (Gamma) armor.
The Zoh Shia monster is also entering the fray, and it’s going to be a big challenge. After completing the story mode, players can take on Zoh Shia in a special quest available at Hunter Rank 50. Afterward, the monster will be available through the Environment Overview and during the Wyvern's Wakening in the Ruins of Wyveria.
Previously, we talked about how players use New Barrel Bombs to blow themselves up!
New Social Area: The Grand Hub

When you need a break from hunting, The Grand Hub is the place to be. This new social area unlocks at Rank 16 and above by talking to Tetsuzan in Suja. The Grand Hub is designed for more laid-back activities, and it offers plenty of new ways to relax. It comes with a local forge, a canteen for pre-hunt meals, arm wrestling tables, and even a Barrel Bomb bowling mini-game. Earn Barrel Bowling Vouchers to unlock new items and pendants, and enjoy performances from the Diva, who sings at night.
Once unlocked, The Grand Hub will also house the Squad Information Counter, which moves from the Windward Plains, and the Arena Counter for the new Arena Quests. In these new quests, you’ll be competing against other players for the fastest times, taking on monsters using predetermined equipment. The Challenge Quests and Free Challenge Quests are also part of this update, and up to four players can tackle them to earn rewards like pendants.
It's no surprise that such a large social mechanic has emerged, as the game hit a record at the beginning of the month – 8 Million Sales in just 3 Days!
Seasonal Events: Festival of Accord - Blossomdance

The first of many seasonal events is the Festival of Accord: Blossomdance, set to start on April 23rd. This spring celebration will bring a fresh makeover to The Grand Hub, complete with festival-themed meals and exclusive rewards like new equipment, pop-up camp decorations, and even new gestures. It’s an exciting way to celebrate the changing season in style.
New Cosmetic and Paid DLC

As with any major update, there are some new cosmetic items coming too. After the update goes live, you’ll be able to change Alma’s outfit and later, her glasses, from the Appearance menu at camp. A free outfit will be included, and for those wanting more, expect additional purchases through the Monster Hunter Wilds store. On the paid DLC front, there will be new pendants to customize your weapons and camp gear options, like a giant stuffed bear for lounging.
Also, keep an eye out for the Cosmetic DLC Pack 1, available to Premium Deluxe owners and Cosmetic DLC Pass holders. For those looking to get their hands on classic gestures, you’ll be able to grab a selection of them for free from the store.
Monster Hunter Wilds’ future updates are already shaping up to be just as exciting. After Title Update 1 drops, you can look forward to more Event Quests (with some cool rewards, including a flowing scarf) and a smaller update at the end of May, which will feature a collaboration with another Capcom game and new features like an endemic life list to track the creatures you’ve captured. Then, in summer, Title Update 2 will bring the return of the legendary Lagiacrus—a water leviathan you don’t want to miss.
With Title Update 1 arriving on April 3rd, there’s plenty to look forward to in Monster Hunter Wilds. New monsters, a social hub, seasonal events, and plenty of rewards will keep hunters busy for weeks to come. Get ready to dive back into the Wilds and take on these new challenges, and maybe try out a few rounds of Barrel Bomb bowling while you're at it! Happy hunting!
