The update significantly revamped the Gold Pass system, introducing a redesigned interface along with several new mechanics. These include a Daily Task system, Choice Nodes for rewards, the Hoggy Bank replacing the Season Bank, and a new Village Helper called the Prospector.

Direct Use Only Works for “No-Target” Magic Items

Alongside the redesigned reward track, Supercell added a feature allowing certain Magic Items to be used directly from the Gold Pass track or even sold without claiming them first. However, the feature was not clearly explained at launch, leading many players to believe it applied to all Magic Items.

Supercell has now clarified that only Magic Items that do not require a specific target can be activated directly from the reward track. These items apply automatically across the village and do not require selecting a building, troop, or upgrade.

Examples of these items include:

  • Runes
  • Boost Potions
  • Super Potions
  • Pet Potions

These can now be used instantly from the Gold Pass track, making them faster and more convenient to activate.

Targeted Items Still Need to Be Claimed First

Some Magic Items still require the traditional process. Items such as Books, Hammers, Wall Rings, and other targeted upgrades need a specific building, troop, or upgrade to be selected.

Because of this, they must still be claimed first and used from the player’s inventory, just like before the update.

Inventory Limits Can Also Affect the Feature

Another detail that confused players involves Magic Item storage limits. If a player’s inventory for a specific Magic Item is already full, the option to use another one directly from the Gold Pass track will not appear.

In this situation, space must be freed in the inventory before the item can be used.

According to Supercell, this behavior is intentional and working as designed. However, the developers acknowledged that the feature was not explained clearly when the update launched, which led to confusion among players.
