Fortnite already has a solid history with The Walking Dead universe, with Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon, and Michonne previously added to the game. Given the franchise’s rich cast of characters, fans have long hoped for more of their favorites to make an appearance—and new leaks suggest that wish might be granted soon.

Negan Could Be the Next to Drop In

According to a recent tweet from prominent Fortnite leaker HYPEX, another wave of The Walking Dead cosmetics is reportedly in the works. One of the most talked-about additions is Negan, the fan-favorite antihero from The Walking Dead: Dead City, which is set to premiere its second season on May 4, 2025.

Adding fuel to the rumors, dataminers claim to have discovered hints of Negan’s infamous barbed-wire baseball bat, Lucille, possibly being introduced as a new mythic item—giving fans another reason to believe the leak is legit.

Could Maggie Join the Fight Too?

Maggie, another key character from Dead City, is also rumored to be part of the upcoming cosmetic set. Whether these new skins will be part of a larger in-game event or simply arrive in the Item Shop like many past crossovers remains unclear. In previous events, Fortnite and The Walking Dead even featured themed portals that linked both universes for a limited time, making the idea of a special event plausible.

A Pre-Halloween Drop?

While The Walking Dead cosmetics have traditionally been tied to Fortnite’s Fortnitemares Halloween event, the timeline of this leak suggests that players might not have to wait until October. With Dead City Season 2 just around the corner, a spring release would line up nicely with cross-promotional plans.

As always, fans should take leaks with a grain of salt until Epic Games makes an official announcement. Still, with Fortnite constantly evolving and new content dropping regularly, players have good reason to be optimistic about what’s coming next.

Whether it’s through the Item Shop or a full-scale event, the undead might just be ready to walk into Fortnite once again.
