Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Drops Massive 62GB Patch with 1000+ Fixes
If you thought medieval life was tough, try patching a 62GB update.
Warhorse Studios has dropped Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Patch 1.2, packed with over 1000 fixes, tweaks, and changes. The update polishes everything from physics to performance, making sure Henry’s world runs smoother than ever.
Among the highlights:
- Improved physics for bridles, chanfrons, parsnips (yes, really), and scabbards.
- Enhanced lipsync animations.
- Fixes for T-posing NPCs and weird AI behaviors.
- Support for NVIDIA DLSS 4 Super Resolution (but no word on DLSS 4 MFG yet).
- Better SVOTI lighting recalculations, reducing flickering and pop-in issues.
- Optimized Kuttenberg marketplaces and frame rate stability in battles.
- Faster level switching (on average, 15 seconds quicker).
- Reduced torch count in large skirmishes for improved performance.
Beyond visuals, the update improves streaming of NPC models and battle performance, ensuring smoother gameplay in intense moments. It also prevents graphical inconsistencies like broken vegetation, flickering distant objects, and weird rain animations during long sessions.
If your impressions of the size of the patch have already subsided, let me remind you that the developers used a real horse to create the CGI trailer.
Modding & Patch Installation
One major heads-up: the patch might break some mods, so disable them before launching to avoid crashes. As usual, Steam will auto-download the update when you start the client.
If you’re brave enough to read the full patch notes (yes, all 1000+ fixes), you can check them on the official site.
