Tomb Raider IV–VI Remastered Update 2 Brings Golden Pistols, Outfits, and Fixes
The latest patch for Tomb Raider IV–VI Remastered arrives today, delivering the Golden Pistols, fresh outfits, new Photo Mode filters, and a broad range of stability, gameplay, and visual improvements. Aspyr Media confirmed the update will roll out at 9 AM PST, with automatic download on Steam. Alongside the new content, players can expect fixes for rare crashes, improved level stability, restored effects, and better localization support.
The standout feature is the addition of Lara’s Golden Pistols. These are not automatically available — players must register on tombraider.com before unlocking them. The registration is handled within the game’s menus. By navigating past the Angel of Darkness screen to the “Join the Society of Raiders” page, players can generate a QR code, scan it, and either sign up or log in to their account. After receiving the confirmation screen, the Golden Pistols will be ready for use in Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation and Tomb Raider: Chronicles. They can be toggled on or off through the Sunglass menu’s Outfit section. They are not available in Angel of Darkness.
For franchise fans might be interesting to know that Tomb Raider TV series has reportedly been canceled in April 2025.

The update also expands Lara’s wardrobe with the Beta outfit, X-Ray outfit, and the Classic outfit for Angel of Darkness. These can be used to customize her appearance further, adding variety for both gameplay and Photo Mode. Speaking of Photo Mode, this update introduces new filters, giving players more creative tools for capturing their adventures.
On the technical side, Patch 2 targets stability problems that could disrupt gameplay. It addresses rare crashes tied to specific cutscenes and scene transitions, such as those in “The Vault of Trophies” and “Galleries Under Siege.” A crash that could occur when switching outfits in Photo Mode during boss fights has been fixed, along with improved stability when exiting or loading certain levels.
Gameplay progression is also smoother thanks to the removal of softlocks in specific levels, including elevator and platforming sections. Aspyr has fixed situations where Lara could become stuck or fall through the environment, as well as animation and position errors when reloading saves. Destructible environments and cutscene states now save and load more reliably.
The update makes significant visual adjustments. Lighting, textures, and reflections in HD levels have been corrected. Missing or incorrectly placed effects like water, glass, snow, steam, and fire have been restored. Character models are improved with clipping issues resolved, and z-fighting and shadow flickering have been reduced in several levels.
Audio has not been overlooked. Missing or incorrect voiceover lines in various languages — notably Brazilian Portuguese — have been restored. Looping or missing sound effects during key gameplay and cinematic moments have been fixed.
Localization updates include corrected translations for menus, outfit names, and Photo Mode settings in non-English languages. Achievement descriptions in the German PlayStation 5 version have also been corrected.
The user interface has been refined with better inventory navigation, corrected controller prompts, and updated registration pages for account linking. Additional fixes cover the EULA, copyright text, achievement unlock conditions on PC, and various bugs related to Lara’s health bar, reflections, and outfit unlocks.
