Split Fiction Blasts Past 2 Million Sales in Just One Week!
Split Fiction, the latest co-op hit from Hazelight Games, didn’t just launch – it exploded. Released on March 6 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, the game has already surpassed 2 million copies sold in its first week.
The developers shared their excitement on social media, saying they were “blown away” by the massive support from both new and returning fans. Just two days after launch, the game had already hit 1 million sales – meaning another million copies were sold in the following five days.
Two Players, Even More Gamers
Since Split Fiction is a co-op experience, the actual number of players is much higher than the copies sold. A huge boost comes from the Friend’s Pass feature, which lets one player buy the game while a friend can join in for free. This smart move makes it easier for new players to jump in and spread the hype – just like Hazelight’s previous smash hit, It Takes Two.
Can It Repeat It Takes Two’s Success?

Hazelight’s previous title, It Takes Two, had a similarly strong start, selling 1 million copies within weeks of its March 2021 launch. That number kept climbing, hitting 10 million by 2023 and an incredible 20 million by 2024. If Split Fiction keeps this momentum, it could be on track to become another co-op gaming legend.
So, is Split Fiction the next big co-op hit of the decade? With numbers like these, it sure looks like it!
