The Microsoft Rewards program is a popular way for internet users and Xbox players to earn rewards through everyday activities. Over the years, the program has undergone several changes—some of which have been met with mixed reactions from users—but it still offers plenty of opportunities to redeem points for movies, gift cards, Xbox Game Pass subscriptions, and even exclusive contests with major prizes.

The winner of the previous Microsoft Rewards $1 million giveaway has already been announced, and now, a brand-new contest is on the horizon. This time, a total of $2 million in prizes will be awarded to 101 winners. The grand prize of $1 million will go to a single winner, while the remaining $1 million will be divided among 100 participants, each receiving a $10,000 prize.

How to Enter the Microsoft Rewards Contest

While the contest has not officially begun, Microsoft Rewards users can sign up to receive notifications about its launch. Although the exact rules have yet to be revealed, the previous contest provides some insights into what participants can expect.

In the last Microsoft Rewards $1 million giveaway, the contest ran for a few months, allowing plenty of time for users to enter. It was open to residents of the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. The first entry was free for all Microsoft Rewards members, with additional entries available in exchange for points. In that contest, users could redeem 2,000 points for five extra entries. Microsoft also donated $162,230 to charity, splitting the amount between the World Wildlife Fund and UNICEF based on participants who submitted 50 or more entries.

Although winning such a contest is a long shot, there's no downside to entering—especially if a free entry is included, as in previous giveaways. With 100 additional cash prizes available, the odds of winning something are slightly better this time around. Those looking to maximize their chances may want to start earning Microsoft Rewards points now, ensuring they have enough to redeem for extra entries once the contest officially opens.
