All Known Confirmed Nintendo Switch 2 Games

The Nintendo Switch 2 has officially been announced, but the list of confirmed games for the new console is still relatively short. While more titles are expected to be revealed, here's what we know so far.

As of now, the confirmed list includes a new Mario Kart game, the highly anticipated Bestiario, and sequels like Fur Squadron Phoenix and My Time at Evershine. In addition, we can expect new RPG experiences like Synth Beasts and a remaster of Yooka-Laylee.

Nintendo has promised backward compatibility, meaning players will still have plenty to play while awaiting their favorite upcoming titles. More details will likely emerge in April during a new Nintendo Direct.

1. New Mario Kart

The next Mario Kart game for the Switch 2 was teased during the console's reveal trailer. While there’s no official title yet, we got a glimpse of a new track called Mario Bros. Circuit, set in a desert environment. The game will feature the iconic Mario Kart gameplay with new mechanics, updated visuals, and a familiar roster of characters, promising to take full advantage of the Switch 2’s upgraded hardware for a smoother and more immersive racing experience.

2. Bestiario

Bestiario is a turn-based role-playing game that takes inspiration from classic PS1-era RPGs. Developed by an indie studio, the game offers a nostalgic feel with modern touches. Set in a richly detailed world, players will explore dungeons, battle powerful monsters, and uncover an intricate storyline. Bestiario will be available not just for the original Switch but also for the Switch 2, bringing updated graphics and gameplay mechanics to the next-generation platform.

3. Fur Squadron Phoenix

A highly anticipated sequel to the 2023 space shooter Fur Squadron, Phoenix will offer more exhilarating aerial dogfights in a galaxy filled with enemies. 5. Synth Beasts

Synth Beasts is a monster-taming action RPG where players take on the role of a genetically engineered human tasked with capturing and using beasts created by rogue scientists. Players will explore various biomes, capture monsters, and use them in strategic combat. Featuring deep customization for the monsters and characters, Synth Beasts will be available on both the original Switch and the Switch 2, offering a visually enhanced experience for the new hardware. It will also release on PlayStation and Xbox consoles, broadening its reach.

6. Yooka-Replaylee

Yooka-Replaylee is a remaster of the 2017 game Yooka-Laylee, developed by Playtonic Games. The game, which draws heavy inspiration from classic platformers like Banjo-Kazooie, has been updated with improved graphics, smoother gameplay mechanics, and better performance. Players will once again control Yooka the chameleon and Laylee the bat as they explore vibrant worlds and collect various items. The remaster will be released for the Switch 2 along with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions, marking the next evolution in this fan-favorite series.

Speculation points to the possibility of future cross-generation games, like Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Metroid Prime 4, joining the Switch 2 lineup. Nintendo's history suggests that its big titles might be released on both consoles, ensuring a smoother transition for players.
