The Blood of Dawnwalker: News details about the future game of CD Project Red ex-members
Recently, two posts were published on the game's official YouTube channel under the "Character Introduction" section, revealing the ancient origin of the vampire from the first cinematic trailer of the game and more.
The Blood of Dawnwalker is an upcoming dark fantasy action role-playing game developed by Rebel Wolves and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. Set in an alternate 14th-century Europe, the game follows Coen, a young man transformed into a "Dawnwalker," a being caught between day and night. Players will navigate a richly detailed open world, engaging in non-linear quests and moral dilemmas. The game is being developed using Unreal Engine 5 and is scheduled for release on PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S.
Born in the Roman Empire under the name Caeso Burrienus Laurentius, AD 131, to a noble family who owned massive latifundia, Brencis was destined for greatness.
He joined the rank of Senators and quickly rose to the top of Roman officialdom, with ambitions to become the next consul. He was on the right track to make it happen... if only he was not turned into a vampire. In a blink of an eye, he fell from the very top of the social ladder to its very bottom – but his hunger for power remained.

Born to a peasant family as the oldest of four siblings, Coen’s childhood was not easy. He started working in the silver mines, alongside his father, when he was still a kid.
“As an intelligent and curious child, he dreamt of adventure and traveling out of the valley, away from his chores and family obligations. He never did – he knows his family needs him to survive and he cannot abandon them.
Gaining vampiric powers turns his life upside down and terrifies him, but... it also gives him means to become free from the constraints and duties placed upon him.

Both characters were featured in the official game trailer, which was published on the same channel a week ago. The video has gained almost half a million views. The mise-en-scène and locations bear a strong resemblance to the opening video from the first Witcher game.
The release date is unknown, but at the end of the video, it was announced that gameplay and other development details will be revealed in the summer of 2025. Given the busy 2025 release schedule and summer gameplay announcements, it's safe to predict that Dawnwalker will have a release window in 2026, but certainly not earlier.
The development team includes former CD Projekt Red developers known for their work on "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" and "Cyberpunk 2077." The game aims to offer a narrative-driven experience with a strong focus on player choice and consequence.
