PlayStation 6: first details about the next generation of consoles
PlayStationThe authoritative technical insider Kepler_L2 reports that the design of the system-on-a-chip for the PlayStation 6 has already been completed, and the first test samples are planned to be produced at the end of this year. Given Sony's usual practice, the new console can be expected to be launched about two years after the chip is completed. Thus, the PlayStation 6 is expected to launch in late 2027.
According to Kepler_L2, the PS6 system will be based on RDNA 5 architecture. Another insider from China adds that Sony will use AMD 3D V-Cache technology in its console for the first time. This solution will significantly improve the performance of the processor, providing storage of more data and faster access to it.
