Homelander in Mortal Kombat 1: First Trailer Unveils Jaw-Dropping Fatalities
Mortal Kombat 1 has introduced a new trailer featuring Homelander, offering the first in-game glimpse of how the iconic character from The Boys will be represented in Netherrealm Studios' game. Players are eagerly anticipating Homelander's arrival, as his presence promises a powerful addition to the roster.
Before Homelander, the game saw several other iconic faces joining its ranks. First came Omni-Man, followed by Quan Chi, Peacemaker from DC, and finally Ermac, the latest addition to the roster. With Homelander being the second-to-last character from Kombat Pack 1, his trailer has generated significant excitement, teasing his powerful finishing moves.
In the trailer, Liu Kang warns Homelander that he has "chosen war with a god," but Homelander retorts that it was Liu Kang's decision. After Liu Kang lands his signature kick, Homelander unleashes his Fatalities. In the first one, he uses his laser vision to blast Liu Kang's head off. In the second, he launches Liu Kang skyward with a mighty punch before the God of Fire is struck by a plane.
Although the trailer primarily showcases Homelander, it also features Ferra, who makes a special appearance. While Ferra, known from Mortal Kombat 10 alongside her masked companion Torr, doesn't have much screen time, players can spot her in a victory animation where she leaps into the air and sits atop a pile of severed heads on the Versus screen.
Homelander is the second-last character in Kombat Pack 1, but a specific release date remains unconfirmed. However, with the fourth season of The Boys premiering on June 13, many speculate that Netherrealm Studios might time Homelander's release to coincide with the show's return. Ferra is set to be the final Kameo fighter from the pack, and her release date is also unknown. In the meantime, Mavado is the next Kameo character joining the fray this week.
