Twitch has renamed the CS:GO category to Counter-Strike. This move could be related to the preparation for the release of CS 2
The streaming platform Twitch.tv has changed the category name from "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive" to "Counter-Strike". This change could be related to an upcoming significant announcement about "Counter-Strike 2," scheduled for Wednesday, September 27th in Seattle. There is speculation within the community that this could signify the official release of CS 2 or, at the very least, an open beta test of the game.
It's worth noting that there is a separate category on Twitch for the closed beta test of CS 2, called "Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test." As of the time of this news publication, this category has a higher level of activity among viewers compared to the main Counter-Strike category. However, it's important to mention that the matches for ESL Pro League Season 18, scheduled for September 26th, have not yet begun.
