The service centers of Sony in Japan have ceased providing repair services for PS4 Pro and PS VR
Last week, Game Watch reported that Sony's Japanese division ceased offering repair services for PS4 Pro consoles and first-generation PS VR headsets. Those who placed repair orders before December 20 will be able to submit their devices to the service center until January 5, 2024.
The lack of necessary spare parts was cited as the reason behind Sony's decision to halt the repair services. How this will impact other regions remains unclear. GamePro.de reached out to Sony's German division but received an inconclusive response.
It seems that Sony is gradually shifting focus towards promoting the PS5. The console was released in 2020, and recently, it was announced that its sales have surpassed the 50 million mark.
