Developers at Arrowhead Game Studios confirmed cross-play support for the game through a post on the PlayStation Blog. The post also unveiled the minimum, recommended, performance, and ultra system requirements for PC. A new trailer for the third-person cooperative shooter has been released and is scheduled for publication by Sony on February 8. Initially announced at the PlayStation Showcase event in May of last year, Helldivers was originally slated for release in 2023 but faced a delay.
It serves as a sequel to Helldivers, which debuted in 2015 for PS3, PS4, and Vita. Drawing inspiration from military sci-fi like "Starship Troopers," it marked Sony's first game release on PC in the same year.
The game's description on the PlayStation Store invites players to team up with friends to fend off an alien threat endangering the safety of their home planet, Super Earth. Helldivers represents an elite soldier class whose mission involves spreading peace, liberty, and Managed Democracy utilizing the most powerful weaponry in the galaxy. Players have the ability to call in support through stratagems during gameplay, deciding when and how to deploy them.
