Starbreeze announces that the server issues that arose during the launch of Payday 3 have now been resolved
The game on Steam continues to receive primarily negative reviews, with many of them being posted during the launch period when players encountered difficulties connecting to servers.
Starbreeze attributed the issue to third-party matchmaking software, stating that an unforeseen error had led to challenges in handling a large influx of players.
However, in a recent update on Starbreeze's official website, the studio announced that they have conducted technical maintenance to address the initial matchmaking issues that arose during the game's launch. According to the update, matchmaking is now stable and has demonstrated good performance after the technical maintenance.
Starbreeze's CEO, Tobias Sjögren, expressed gratitude to the players for their patience. He emphasized that despite the rocky start, the company is committed to continuously improving Payday 3 over the long term, making the game bigger and better to provide maximum value to the players.
Starbreeze also announced plans to intensify commercial activities around Payday 3 following a partial suspension last week. Additionally, they intend to release the first game update early this month, featuring over 200 quality-of-life improvements for all platforms.
The company is exploring various options to address the issue, including reducing Payday 3's dependence on online services. The requirement for a constant online connection has caused dissatisfaction among players, particularly since July when it was confirmed that the game would demand a continuous internet connection even for solo play with bots.
