Past Minecraft Mob Vote Losers: A Glimpse at the Mobs That Almost Made It
A Minecraft enthusiast has created a comprehensive compilation of all the mobs that failed to secure enough votes in previous mob voting events. As Minecraft Live 2023 approaches, featuring another mob vote where players will choose between the armadillo, crab, and penguin, fans are eager to see which creature will emerge victorious. However, amidst the excitement for the upcoming vote, one fan decided to revisit the past and highlight the mobs that fell short in previous polls.
A Reddit user known as Oceans24mission recently shared three Minecraft images showcasing the mobs that didn't garner sufficient votes to be added to the game. The first image displays the list of these defeated Minecraft mobs, including the Copper Golem, Glare, Iceloger, Moobloom, Meerkat, Ostrich, Rascal, Tuff Golem, and Vulture. The second image focuses on mobs that lost biome-specific votes, while the third image combines the two categories. Notably, there is one omission from the list: termites, which could have been introduced to the Minecraft Savanna biome. Termites were intended to consume wood and drop sawdust, offering a unique gameplay element.
Each of these failed mobs had distinctive characteristics and abilities. For example, the Iceloger could summon ice clouds to slow players down, and the Rascal was designed for hide-and-seek games, rewarding players for finding it multiple times. However, these mobs lost in their respective votes to the Minecraft Glow Squid in 2020 and the Sniffer in 2022. In contrast, several other mobs, such as the Allay, Phantom, Llama, Polar Bear, and Magma Cube, successfully made their way into the game after winning community votes.
While the mobs featured in Oceans24mission's images may not have made it into the game thus far, there remains the possibility that they could be added in the future. As Minecraft fans eagerly await the armadillo, crab, and penguin mob vote during Minecraft Live, it remains uncertain which creature will emerge as the community's favorite.
