Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection Release Date Possibly Leaked via Xbox App

The highly anticipated Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection may have an unofficial release date — and the source of the leak is none other than the Xbox mobile app. According to observant fans, the app briefly listed September 29 as the potential launch date for the upcoming compilation, despite no official confirmation from developer Digital Eclipse.

A Leaked Launch Window

Although Legacy Kollection was previously given a general 2025 release window, this new leak suggests the game might arrive much sooner. A post on the GamingLeaksAndRumors subreddit by user ByrdOfMemes included a screenshot from the Xbox mobile app showing the September 29 date.

Depending on regional time zones, the launch could fall on September 29 or 30. However, it’s worth noting that the desktop version of the Xbox Store currently displays no specific release information, leaving this leak unconfirmed by official sources.

A Retro Compilation for Modern Platforms

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection was originally unveiled during the June 4 State of Play showcase. Developed by Digital Eclipse in collaboration with Atari, the collection brings together several classic Mortal Kombat titles, including arcade and console versions of Mortal Kombat II and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. The compilation will launch across all major platforms — including the Nintendo Switch 2.

While only a handful of titles have been officially announced so far, Digital Eclipse is expected to reveal additional games from the franchise’s early years closer to release.

Roster Highlights and What’s Next

Legacy Kollection promises a diverse character lineup, combining iconic fighters like Scorpion and Johnny Cage with lesser-known characters such as Shinnok, Drahmin, and Frost. Fans can expect a nostalgic yet rich gameplay experience, packed with content spanning the franchise’s storied history.
