Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia to End Its Service on February 29, 2024
Gaming News: Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia will conclude its operations on February 29, 2024. As per an official statement released on the game's X account (formerly known as Twitter), the development team expressed deep regret over this decision.
"Dear players, it's with regret that we announce Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia will cease operations on February 29, 2024," the statement reads. "We appreciate your years of support and hope you continue to enjoy the game until the service concludes."
Several events have been promised to users leading up to the game's removal from mobile services.
Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia, developed by Square Enix and Team Ninja, debuted in Japan in 2017 and was later released worldwide in 2018. It's a turn-based RPG featuring characters from the Final Fantasy universe. Notably, all characters are free, but they can be enhanced using in-game currency.
At the time of Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia's closure, the game will have featured 179 characters from the Final Fantasy universe. Additionally, in June 2022, Square announced the game had reached a milestone of 10 million downloads worldwide.
