New Mortal Kombat 1 Trailer Introduces Geras: The Time-Manipulating Challenger!

Forget about Prince of Persia, because Mortal Kombat 1 has just introduced its latest formidable fighter: Geras. For those unfamiliar, Geras is the custodian of the hourglass of time, making his debut in Mortal Kombat 11. Given that Mortal Kombat 1 centers around time manipulation, it's fitting to have him appear to wield his temporal powers with devastating force—mainly by delivering powerful punches.

The trailer showcases Geras employing his Temporal Advantage ability once again, enabling him to freeze opponents in time and then unleash punishing attacks on them. With an array of time-themed moves at his disposal, Geras also incorporates sand-based techniques, including a chilling fatality that involves using a whirling sandstorm to grind down an opponent's face to the bone.

Excitingly, NetherRealm recently announced that JK Simmons will reprise his role as Omni-Man in Mortal Kombat 1, joining an impressive roster of guest stars like Homelander from The Boys and Peacemaker from The Suicide Squad. Additionally, returning Mortal Kombat characters Ermac, Quan Chi, Shang Tsung and Takeda will be included in the Kombat Pack DLC.

Fans can look forward to Mortal Kombat 1 releasing on September 19. For those eager to get a taste of the action, a closed beta will be available from August 18 to 21 for anyone who pre-orders the game.
