The development team of Diablo IV is currently in full swing, working on two expansions

Currently, the Blizzard team is actively working on the development of two expansions for the game Diablo IV, as stated by General Manager Rod Ferguson in a recent interview with Kinda Funny Games.

Ferguson emphasized that the developers are not only diligently working on patches and seasons for Diablo IV but also focusing on creating two completely new expansions for the game.

"We have to juggle everything simultaneously. Right now, as I sit here, we are preparing for the launch of the main game, wrapping up the first season, working on the second season, developing the first expansion, and also launching the second expansion - all of this is happening right now," he noted.

This workload poses a significant challenge for a development team of any size. Ferguson highlighted the importance of establishing stable processes to avoid exhausting the team after completing the main game, considering there is still a lot of work ahead.

It's worth noting that the list provided by Ferguson does not include patches, which constitute a substantial portion of the content for Diablo IV post-launch. The internal developers at Blizzard indeed have a lot of work to tackle.

Additionally, the Diablo IV developers have already released a major patch that brings balance changes to the game. This represents a substantial amount of work accomplished today, and as a result, Ferguson strives to do everything possible to ensure a comfortable environment for the developers.
