Xbox May Add Quick Resume Disable Feature

Xbox users have asked Microsoft to give them the option to turn off the Quick Resume feature. Head of Xbox Phil Spencer said that the creators of the gaming console are planning to add such an opportunity for gamers with the Xbox Series X/S.

The Quick Resume feature allows players to keep multiple games minimized at once. This feature is considered one of the Xbox Series X/S killer features, however, some users do not like this feature and experience various problems. Most of the complaints come from players who love online games. According to them, the Quick Resume feature does not allow them to connect to the servers after they minimize the title they were playing.

In order to return to their original state and play normally, they have to perform complex operations. For example, gamers make a full exit from the game they were in and delete the saved state in order to start the title in a new way in a clean state.

Confirmation of the above is the statement of the studio 343 Industries, which developed the multiplayer shooter Halo Infinite. The company has warned gamers that they should not minimize Halo if they are playing it, as they may run into trouble and deal with the technical state of the game instead of logging in and enjoying it. Although 343 Industries has released patches that address this issue, it has not yet been fully resolved, and therefore players need to be warned about the negative effects of the Quick Resume feature.

It is noteworthy that Quick Resume is not supported by all projects, and those games in which they are supported do not cause much response from Xbox Series X/S users.
