Recently, footage from The Last Of Us Part I, a remake of the original The Last of Us from 2013, hit the net. And today, the developers from Naughty Dog shared details about the game and gameplay on the official PlayStation channel. According to Neil Druckmann, the decision to develop the project was made shortly after the release of the second part of the franchise.

From the presentation shown, it follows that the game will be made on the game engine from The Last Of Us Part II, and all the main characters will be externally remade to look like characters from the second part. The power of the PlayStation 5 allows you to add more details, effects and particles to game scenes.

Also, the developers transferred the artificial intelligence of opponents from the second part to the remake. This made it possible to improve the behavior of enemies and make them smarter. Also added to the game are a photo mode, a perma-death mode, and a speedrunner mode, which features a stopwatch that counts down the passage time.

All the accessibility features that TLOU 2 has been praised for will migrate to the project, because they really allowed many people with disabilities to touch the video game.

Other innovations include:

  • 3D audio support
  • various character costumes
  • support for DualSense chips

Recall that The Last Of Us Part I will be released on September 2 this year on PlayStation 5. The game will also be available on PC. however, a release date is still unknown.
