CD Projekt RED confirms the development of a new part of The Witcher

Polish studio CD Projekt RED has officially confirmed the development of a new game in the The Witcher universe. The developers announced this on their official website.

We are pleased to announce that the next installment of The Witcher video game series is currently in development and will kick off a new saga for the franchise.

This is an exciting moment as we transition from REDengine to Unreal Engine 5, starting a multi-year strategic partnership with Epic Games. It covers not only licensing, but also the technical development of Unreal Engine 5, as well as potential future versions of Unreal Engine. We will work closely with the developers at Epic Games, whose main goal is to help adapt the engine for games in the open world.

At the moment, there are no further details about the game, such as a development timeline or a release date.

REDengine, the technology that powers Cyberpunk 2077, is still being used to develop the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 expansion.

In reality, CD Projekt RED hasn't shared any details about the upcoming project. The only thing is that the company confirmed that the game will be developed on the Unreal Engine 5. It is also unknown how long the development has been going on and when the release may take place.
