Horizon Forbidden West gets its first major update
Guerrilla Games has released update 1.05 for Horizon Forbidden West, which fixes a number of key bugs and improves various visual bugs. At the same time, the studio announced that it will continue to work on fixing other bugs that players share about.
Known Issues
The studio is currently investigating several issues reported by the community:
- The team is investigating with high priority several graphical issues reported by players regarding screen flickering, harshness, and screen saturation when moving the camera.
- Some players are facing the issue of endless loading screens.
- Some players are experiencing an issue where Aloy's outfit looks washed out in photo mode.
- Some players are experiencing an issue in the Reach for the Stars main quest where Aloy is unable to interact with the car's carcass, blocking progress.
Side quests and errands
- Fixed an issue in the side quest "Suffocation of Blood" where the Atekka would appear as if it were falling from the sky.
- Fixed a progression issue in the side quest "In the Fog" related to fast travel.
- Fixed an issue in the Night of Lights mission where the movable crate could get stuck.
Main missions
- Fixed an issue in the Reach for the Stars quest where reloading a specific autosave after completing the first quest could block further progress.
- Fixed an issue in Eye of the Earth where Aloy could fall through textures after skipping a cutscene.
- Fixed an issue in Cradle of Echo where Varl would go astray after reloading a save.
- Fixed an issue in the "Sea of Sands" mission affecting multiple capture points.
open world
- Tallnecks at the "Sands of the Guardian" location no longer changes direction.
- Fixed a problem with the launch of the "Ruins of Relics".
- Fixed an issue with contracts where an optional objective could not be completed if the required item was sent to the player's stash.
Game process
- The "Second Chance" skill now works correctly.
- Fixed an issue that caused the camera to take an unintended position when using certain weapon moves.
General Improvements
- Fixed excessive image sharpening in HDR mode.
- Fixed an issue that caused some settlements to pass through and then disappear under certain circumstances.
- Fixed an issue that caused the HUD to flicker when the player performed loot actions.
- We fixed an issue where quickly opening and closing the map could result in graphical anomalies.
- Fixed an issue where Aloy's animation would sometimes jitter quickly when getting up after picking plants.
- Fixed a global issue where Aloy's or some NPCs' gaze direction was incorrect.
- Fixed several cases where Aloy, NPCs or enemies could get stuck in geometry.
- Fixed an issue where roads and map icons would sometimes appear with a delay.
- Fixed several streaming issues and unintended loading screens.
- NPCs that seemed to suffer from insomnia and used to gather in large groups at night in the settlements now behave more naturally.
- Petra will no longer teleport to her place in the brewery if you follow her right after the first conversation with her.
Other
- Various performance improvements.
- Various other minor fixes and cosmetic improvements.
