Glen Calvert leaves Fnatic
Glen Calvert has announced that he is stepping down as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the British esports organization Fnatic. The announcement was made by Calvert via LinkedIn.
Calvert joined Fnatic in early 2019 after a seven-year tenure with the company he founded, Affectv (now Hybrid Theory).
As CEO of Fnatic, Calvert oversaw the operations and assisted in the growth and expansion of the esports organization. During his tenure, the organization undertook a corporate rebranding, raised significant sums through funding rounds and entered into partnerships with companies such as BMW, AndaSeat and Bud Light.
In addition, at its inception over the past two years, Fnatic has also begun its expansion into India and the Middle East.
In his LinkedIn post, Calvert thanked many of the staff. Moreover, he stated that "the time has come to move on and launch the next venture." What will be his new project has not yet been announced.
Note that Calvert is currently the director of Bidstack Group PLC, a company that specializes in advertising mobile games.
