Fnatic, one of the most established brands in esports, is reportedly considering a partial or full sale of the organization, with the business potentially valued at around $100 million. The company has attracted multiple investment offers and has appointed sports advisory firm Oakwell Advisory to manage negotiations with interested parties.

Founded in 2004 by Sam Mathews and his mother, Anne, Fnatic quickly rose to prominence and made history in 2011 by winning the first-ever League of Legends World Championship. Over the years, the organization has built a global reputation, particularly through its long-standing success in various iterations of Counter-Strike, which remains central to its legacy.

Interest in a potential acquisition is strongest among sports and media investors seeking a flagship name within the esports space, as well as large media groups aiming to strengthen their connection with younger, digital-first audiences.

Beyond League of Legends, Fnatic fields competitive rosters in Valorant, Counter-Strike 2, and Rainbow Six, further increasing its appeal to buyers from different segments of the industry. The organization has also demonstrated business innovation through Fnatic Gear, an early hardware venture that produced professional gaming peripherals and surpassed one million units sold before being acquired by Sony.

Fnatic maintains offices in London, Berlin, and Tokyo, and was among the first Western esports organizations to establish a dedicated training facility in South Korea, reinforcing its international presence.

The main challenge persists in Counter-Strike 2, where the team has yet to reclaim a top-tier position in the discipline that once defined its global success.
