Nerd Street Gamers partners with Brentwood Parks & Rec
Nerd Street Gamers, the national gaming and esports infrastructure company, has announced a partnership with Brentwood Parks & Recreation in Missouri to make it easier for youth to access esports. The partnership is a multi-stage collaboration between the two parties that will begin with an extracurricular esports program for children ages 7-13.
Building on what Nerd Street Gamers calls a "playful" approach to learning esports, the extracurricular program will be part of the Localhost camp. This program will run on Mondays and Wednesdays starting March 29th and continuing through May 21st. Participants will be able to play games such as Mario Kart, Super Smash Brothers, Rocket League and FIFA.
The partnership with Brentwood is nothing new for Nerd Street Gamers, as the organization recently signed a new deal with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation. Nerd Street Gamers sees both agreements as an opportunity to partner with parks to give local young people a competitive esports experience.
The extracurricular program aims to help gamers connect with others, make friends, and develop critical thinking skills - all in an esports environment. Trainers associated with this program will undergo a professional test of knowledge and are expected to become role models for vacationers.
