Former Microsoft CEO Bungie Joins Riot Games
Former Microsoft CEO Carlos Sanchez has announced that he has joined Riot Games as Senior Director of Gaming Operations for Riot Go, the company's game development platform. Sanchez joined the company last month.
Prior to joining Riot, Sanchez worked at Microsoft for nine months in its Xbox division as the chief product inclusion program manager and served as co-director of Xbox LatinX. This was his second job at Xbox (he worked there from 2015 to 2016 as Senior Program Manager).
Prior to that, he served as an executive producer at Turn 10 Studios and spent over two years at Bungie, leading the project on Destiny 2. He also spent nearly four years working at Electronic Arts in a variety of roles.
Riot announced the expansion of its game universe back in October 2020 during its 10th anniversary celebrations; at the time, she announced several games including Teamfight Tactics and Legends of Runeterra. The company recently started asking the public to test out the massively multiplayer online game set in the League of Legends universe.
