Epic Games bought RAD Game Tools, which donated Bink Video, Telemetry and Oodle. Epic Games announced this on its official website.
The technology developed by RAD Game Tools is used in more than 24,000 video games. They are used when working with sound and animation, as well as when rendering. Epic Games plans to more integrate RAD Game Tools products with the Unreal Engine. However, the company clarified that it will not own the exclusive rights to RAD Game Tools creations, allowing developers to freely use products with other engines.
Note that Epic Games recently purchased the Cary Towne Center mall located in Cary, California.
