NAVI and TheMongolZ used to be a highly contested rivalry, but times have changed.

NAVI decided to stick together after the IEM Cologne 2026 Major, making no changes to their roster. They’ve chosen to skip several tournaments, so CS2 at the Esports World Cup will be their first outing this season.

We only have a sample size of one series for NAVI’s performance, which was a convincing 13-9 victory against 3DMAX. And from what we saw, it was business as usual. NAVI should still be one of the best CS2 teams at this event and make a deep run.

On the opposing side, we have TheMongolZ, who made two changes to their roster. They’ve brought in DarkMeister and tikuak, who are two rookies with barely any tier 1 experience. So far, the two prospects don’t look too shabby, but we don’t think they’re quite ready to face a top-tier squad like NAVI just yet.

The only noteworthy opponent this MongolZ roster has faced was FaZe Clan two weeks ago, and they choked a 10-2 lead on Map 1 to end up losing the series, which tells us this new roster lacks proper chemistry.

Overall, NAVI enter this series as the clear favorites, as the Kalshi markets suggest. It also helps that NAVI are an extremely structured team that rarely drops matches to lower-ranked opponents, and TheMongolZ fit that exact profile coming into this series.

We are fairly confident NAVI will take a comfortable victory, and even believe a 2-0 is on the cards. However, with NAVI slightly rusty, we won’t be too surprised if TheMongolZ take a map. So, we’ll play it safe and take NAVI to win the series without any handicaps attached.
