Smart team up with T1 organization

Smart, a subsidiary of telecommunications company PLDT, has signed an agreement with South Korean esports organization T1. As part of the deal, Smart will provide the organization's Dota 2 team with facilities in the Philippines to be used during its bootcamps and tournaments.

The partnership will reportedly aim to support the expansion of the esports organization in the Philippines as well as the development of the country's esports sector.

Jude Turcuato, SVP and Head of Sports at PLDT and Smart: "We are more than happy to help our former Coach Kuku and welcome T1 to the Philippines. This is part of Smart's advocacy to grow esports in the Philippines and empower Filipino esports athletes across as they make their mark on the world stage."

Currently, three players in the T1 Dota 2 roster are from the Philippines, including Kuku, who was previously the coach of Smart Omega, an esports team backed by subsidiary PLDT.

Note that this is not the first T1 partnership agreement signed this year. Back in February, the organization partnered with HP's OMEN brand. Well, last year T1 entered into joint deals with Razer and Steelseries.
