ESL and DreamHack become partners of the Rocket League Championship Series
Tournament operators ESL and DreamHack have become esports partners of the Rocket League Championship Series. The companies have entered into a long-term partnership agreement with the developer Psyonix, obtaining the right to host events in the Rocket League discipline.
Note that this partnership stems from a previous agreement reached between DreamHack and Psyonix as part of the 2020 Rocket League Championship Series.
As partners, DreamHack and ESL will work together to host the Rocket League Championship Series and produce the official broadcasts of the championships. Operators will also support the return of discipline to a LAN format. At the same time, it is already known that the first Major of the RLCS 2020-2021 season will be held in Stockholm.
The partnership will also focus on hosting RLCS events in more regions, including MENA, APAC and Sub-Saharan Africa. In addition, DreamHack and ESL will support Psyonix in the commercialization of the Rocket League Championship Series. Tournament operators will help create new brand interactions and partnerships, and attract new media partners to expand the reach of RLCS.
Recall that the collaboration between DreamHack and Psyonix began in 2017, when DreamHack entered the Rocket League esports league and held two large-scale competitions. In addition, the parties launched the DreamHack Pro series in 2019.
