FunPlus Phoenix begins collaboration with Marvel
Chinese eSports organization FunPlus Phoenix and Marvel Entertainment have announced a partnership agreement, which will cover the co-branded clothing, household goods, consumables, gaming peripherals, focused on e-sports, and other initiatives related to the organization and line of superheroes Marvel.
It is noted that the partnership will cover all divisions of the FunPlus Phoenix organization.
This isn't the first time Disney-owned Marvel Entertainment has partnered with esports organizations. In 2019, Team Liquid signed a similar deal with Marvel Entertainment to provide co-branded merchandise including Captain America, Spider-Man and Black Widow. In 2020, Team Liquid and Marvel have extended their partnership until 2022.
The organization currently has nine partners including BMW, OPPO, PUMA, Herman Miller, Huya, Oishi, Tabula Rasa, Nongfu Spring and Fish Cool. FPX is the only Chinese esports organization under BMW's global esports sponsorship plan, alongside European teams Fnatic, G2 Esports, OG Esports, North American Team Cloud 9 and South Korean Team T1 Entertainment & Sports.
