Wings Gaming and Digital Chaos invited to Dota Pit Season 5
DotaPit organizers decided to invite only two teams to the 5-th season of the championship. Other teams will join the event through the regional qualifiers. TI6 champions Wings Gaming and vice champions Digital Chaos got direct invitations, The Chinese team demonstrated incredible game at the previous The International, and has not participated in any event since that time.
Wings Gaming have no changes in a roster, while Digital Chaos replaced their offlaner player David 'Moo' Hull with ex-OG David 'MoonMeander' Tan. The American team also kept a low profile, but soon we will see both teams at the Northern Arena BEAT Invitational scheduled on November.
Dota Pit Season 5 LAN-finals are scheduled on January 22-27 2017, and the prize pool for the event is $125,000 with additional bonus from buying game tickets and sets, sold at the tournament treasure chests. 8 teams will participate the event. 2 of them receive direct invitations and 6 more are qualified through the closed regional qualifies.
The remaining 6 participants will be determined at the regional qualifiers at the group stage. Each group has 4 teams, the format of the matches is double elimination (GSL). A winner of each group receives place at the LAN. There are two places for European teams, one place for CIS teams, one for China, on for Asia, and one place for players from the North America.
