Invitations: community responds

The most expected event of this winter becomes closer. Recently, Valve organization has officially announced The Boston Major timing, host and format of the competition. In spite of that, the main intrigue was kept in secret till this morning. At last, the organizer announced names of the teams received the direct invitations to the event.

This time, Valve sent direct invitations to the Chinese teams Wings Gaming, NewBee and EHOME. Evil Geniuses and Digital Chaos also received the invitations. The remaining invitations caused scandals in community.

The first team to attract the attention of community became the Execration. They demonstrated good results at The International 2016, but there are no other achievements except for a leading position after regional reshuffle. Still, the community decided that it is not enough to receive intonation to a major.

However, the support for this decision is strong enough. A big part of the community believes that this is a good chance for Asian players to show what they are capable of.  Execration players are satisfied with Valve decision and cannot hide their happiness.

OG also received invitation, but the community believes that the team does not deserve to get the direct invitation and it should pass all qualifiers to join the main stage of the event. Of course, no one can influence the decision of the organizers, so we can just congratulate OG with the invitation.

The invitation of the Korean team MVP has been citizen by everyone. This team lost all the events of this year, and still received the direct invitation. The question ‘why?’ remains unanswered and we will hardly get the explanation of this decision.

The community also discussed teams that have not been included to the list. Fnatic did not receive the invitation, and this is the main theme for discussion now.
