Rumors. DPC may remove minors next season
The LiquidDota portal, citing its own sources, said that next season Valve may remove the Minor series in favor of regional leagues. The professional scene will continue to be divided into six regions, and a two-level league will be launched in each of them.
League matches will be held online and at LAN finals during the break between majors. The results of the teams will become the basis for invitations to larger events.
Note that a similar system is now in the League of Legends discipline, and the most similar competition in Dota 2 is the Parimatch League.
New teams can enter the league only through open qualifications and they will start their performance exclusively from the second division, and if the organization decides to change the region, the team will have to go through the whole procedure from the very beginning.
At the moment, a lot of issues remain in question and Valve are working on a solution.
