PGL Wallachia Season 3: Tournament Format and Participating Teams

From Jan 12 to 15, 2025, closed qualifiers for one of the biggest Dota 2 tournaments of the season, PGL Wallachia Season 3, took place across all regions. Following these qualifying matches, 8 teams earned their spots to join 8 invited teams in the main stage of the tournament. It is worth noting that PGL Wallachia is a truly top-tier event, considered one of the best LAN tournaments in Dota 2 this year. With a prize pool of $1 million, the competition provides additional motivation for the teams.

PGL Wallachia Season 3 Format

The tournament will run from Mar 8 to Mar 16, 2025, in Bucharest, Romania. While the official format has not yet been announced, it is expected to follow the same structure as the previous event, featuring a Swiss group stage and double-elimination playoffs. Matches will likely be played in a Bo3 format, with the grand final being a Bo5.

This format is ideal for ensuring a large number of matches, giving each team ample opportunity to showcase their skills. It also enhances fan engagement, as supporters can watch and cheer for their favorite teams in as many matches as possible.
