ALWAYSWANNAFLY - Team SMG Coach
Malaysian esports organization Team SMG has unveiled a new coach for its Dota 2 roster on social media. It was the thirty-one-year-old Ukrainian Andrii 'ALWAYSWANNAFLY' Bondarenko. Together with him, the team will conquer the DPC SEA 2023 Tour 1: Division I.
Previously, ALWAYSWANNAFLY already had experience in Southeast Asia. The Ukrainian as a coach helped the Talon Esports club prepare and perform at The International 11. Then Talon took 17th-18th place, earning $47,228.
ALWAYSWANNAFLY performed on the professional stage from 2011 to 2022. During his career, he managed to play for such organizations as DTS Gaming, Team Empire, Team Spirit, Gambit Esports, FlyToMoon, Natus Vincere and many others. The main achievement of the Ukrainian can be called the 9th-12th place at The International 2018 as part of Winstrike and The International 2015 as part of Team Empire.
The current Team SMG roster has been expanded by CDR and Xavius, who joined the team in December 2022. The remaining players have been playing for the club since 2021. Team SMG spent the entire previous year in the first division of Southeast Asia, performing with varying degrees of success. The team also tried their hand at tournaments from third-party organizers. The main achievement is the 4th place at the DPC SEA 2021/2022 Tour 1: Division I, which brought the team $26,000.

We remind you that DPC SEA 2023 Tour 1: Division I will be held from January 9th to 30th, 2023 online. The top 8 representatives of Southeast Asia will compete for a prize pool of $205,000, 690 DPC points and slots at the winter 4D Esports Lima Dota Major 2023. The winner will receive the main prize of $30,000, 300 DPC points and a trip to 4D Esports Lima Dota Major 2023.
