Valve to release The International Battle Pass later than usual
The developers of Dota 2 wrote an appeal to the players, in which they said that they understand the desire of the latter to play Valve 's MOBA after the end of the annual The International. In this regard, they wanted to experiment and move the start date for the sale of the Battle Pass and increase its duration. Valve also reported that they have slightly modified the structure of the Battle Pass. What exactly the restructuring concerns is still unknown.
Valve's message to fans:
Every year, the world gathers to see the best players in the world compete for the Aegis of Champions at The International. We are fans ourselves, so when the confetti land and the fireworks die down, we can’t wait to play Dota again, because what if we can carry enemies like Collapse on Magnus? Or drag on all carry heroes like Yatoro?
To ensure that those moments can be experienced by active and returning players alike, this time around the structure of the Battle Pass will be slightly different: we want to make playing after The International the most enjoyable experience. To do this, we will slightly move the duration of the battle pass. It will be released later than in previous years, but will be active both during The International and for quite a long time after it.
Usually Valve likes to release Battle Pass 2-3 months before The International starts. The last time they extended the action for 2 weeks, as they “apologised” in this way for technical problems. It is possible that they liked how the Battle Pass worked (raised money on the hype) during the grand final and after it, when TI riveted all the attention to itself and decided to introduce a new tradition in this way. If The International takes place in October like last year, then according to our assumptions, the Battle Pass should be released in September.
