Team Orca and Apex players received a lifetime ban from Valve tournaments
Studio Beyond The Summit conducted its own investigation, as a result of which the players of Team Orca and Apex received a lifetime ban from tournaments from Valve. During the investigation, representatives of the studio found out that members of Team Orca used the accounts of the players of the Apex team, thereby speaking on their behalf.
During the recent DPC SEA qualifiers, data suggests that Team Orca players used Team Apex accounts to compete on their behalf. This is an unacceptable breach of competitive integrity by both teams.
A separate investigation also uncovered evidence of match-fixing by Team Orca in the BTS Pro Series and other third-party tournaments over the past year.
The decision has been made to permanently ban all Team Orca and Apex players from participating in Valve events.
In addition, a separate investigation was conducted that revealed that Team Orca players were involved in match-fixing at the BTS Pro Series and other third-party tournaments. As a result, it was decided to permanently ban Team Orca and Apex players from all championships held by Valve.
Earlier it became known that Team Orca was suspended from participation in DPC SEA 2021/2022 Tour 2: Division II. The team's slot in the championship was played as part of an open qualification. In addition, Team Orca recently became the winner of BTS Pro Series Season 10: Southeast Asia and Oceanic Esports Dota Championships, where Apex players participated.
