Google Cloud and Solana Foundation Launch Pay.sh

Solana Foundation, in partnership with Google Cloud, has officially unveiled Pay.sh, a new pay-as-you-go platform that lets autonomous AI agents independently discover, access, and pay for API usage using stablecoins on the Solana blockchain. This is the first real “backdoor” for bots into enterprise infrastructure, no accounts, no subscriptions, no API keys required.

How Pay.sh Works?

  1. Just a regular Solana wallet. No Google accounts, key rotation, or corporate logins.
  2. Via credit card or stablecoins (primarily USDC on Solana).
  3. True pay-per-use. An agent pays fractions of a cent per call (e.g. $0.005), not $29/month for a subscription it barely uses.
  4. Google Cloud API proxy sits between the agent and the backend (Gemini, BigQuery, Cloud Run, Vertex AI, etc.). Payments are handled through the open x402 protocol (incubated by Coinbase, now under Linux Foundation) and compatible with the Machine Payments Protocol (MPP) from Tempo and Stripe.

Agents gain access not only to Google Cloud services but also to 50+ third-party providers: Helius, Alchemy, Dune Analytics, Nansen, communication platforms, e-commerce tools, and more. If needed, an agent can query five different sources at once and instantly choose the best one.

Official Statements

Solana Foundation representative:

“Your agent now pays only for what it actually uses. Instead of fixed subscriptions, micro-payments. Agents can ‘shop around’ between providers in real time.”

This is exactly what you mentioned: agents can now independently access and pay for APIs using stablecoins.

Why This Matters for Crypto & AI?

Pay.sh is not just another tool, it’s a major step toward the real agentic economy. AI bots become full-fledged economic actors that can:

  • pay for compute, data, and services on their own;
  • operate 24/7 without any human involvement in billing;
  • create real demand for on-chain stablecoins (especially USDC on Solana).

For developers, this radically lowers barriers: no more shady virtual-card schemes or proxies. For Solana, it’s a powerful driver of transaction volume and stablecoin usage. For Google Cloud, it’s direct access to the exploding market of autonomous agents.

The platform is already live (pay.sh), fully open-source, and available with no waitlist. The demo presented by Solana’s Chief Product Officer Vibhu Norby at Solana Accelerate USA in Miami generated massive buzz.

The combination of Google Cloud’s infrastructure with Solana’s speed and low costs has created real production-ready infrastructure for AI agents to become proper “customers” of the internet. This isn’t hype, it’s the first fully working system where a bot finds an API, pays in USDC, and gets the result. The future of agentic commerce is here.
