Gamers are more interested in earning bitcoins than NFTs

Recently, fintech firm Zebedee conducted a survey among gamers, where they raised the question of what they would like to receive as a reward: bitcoins or NFTs. Representatives of the gaming community responded that they see more value in getting the flagship cryptocurrency.

It is known that many gamers are now opposed to the introduction of NFT tokens in modern games, as many cases indicate. However, some of them are ready to take on spending time in the game if bitcoins will act as a reward there.

Zebedee polled gamers and asked if they would play free games if they could be rewarded in cryptocurrency. 67% answered that they would. The remaining third replied that they would not play such games.

In another question, the researchers wanted to know the opinion of the players about the possibility of exchanging playable characters. Most of the survey participants answered that this is a positive opportunity that should be given to players. So considered 45% of gamers. Another 23% said that this could lead to negative consequences. The remaining 32% refused to answer this question.

Zebedee Chief Strategy Officer Ben Cousens said that such results were possible due to the positive or neutral attitude of gamers towards cryptocurrency rewards. Cousens also specifically noted the increased interest in the flagship digital asset, despite the development of non-fungible tokens in the gaming industry.

Previously, researchers conducted a survey, according to which they tried to find out the attitude of gamers to the use of cryptocurrencies in the metaverse. 40% of respondents would like to play in the metaverse and receive rewards in cryptocurrency, while 60% were negative about such an idea.

Axie Infinity is a great example of friendship between gaming and earning NFT tokens

In the video game industry, developers have repeatedly tried to make gamers friends with non-fungible tokens, but each time this attempt could not be successful.

One of the first who wanted to make such an innovation was Ubisoft. After they announced the introduction of NFT tokens in the game Tom Clancy's Breakpoint, 96% of gamers reacted very negatively to this. Along with this, videos began to appear on the Internet calling for a stop to the introduction of NFT into games.

Later, the creators of STALKER 2 Heart of Chernobyl also distinguished themselves with this idea. The developers said that they want to add elements of non-interchangeable items to the game. After that, just as in the case of Ubisoft, gamers responded to GSC Game World that they would not like to see this in the upcoming title. They thanked the fans for their opinion and did not add NFT tokens. At least that's what they claim now.

The Rockstar Games studio and the GTA V edition, Take-Two, began to approach the world of cryptocurrencies. Representatives of the latter have signed a contract with CEO Strauss Zelnik, which implies bonuses in the form of cryptocurrencies, but how exactly these bonuses work is unknown. It is also noteworthy that rumors appeared on the Internet about such awards in the next numbered part of the Grand Theft Auto series.

Also, GTA Online developers asked not to sell cryptocurrencies on the game servers. They welcome creativity, but do not want their game to turn into a cryptocurrency market.
