xfl0ud explains why he didn't join Eternal Fire
On his recent stream, the 18-year-old Turkish player shared some interesting insights into the transfer saga around Eternal Fire. In particular, xfl0ud said that the idea of creating a Turkish team appeared in December last year:
woxic wrote to me last December, when the team only had XANTARES and woxic himself, while I was the third player.
The player explained that the development of the Turkish project took too long, which is why he decided to move to the flusha team:
After six months of training, the XANTARES contract situation was still not clear. As a result, I left the project to participate in GORILLAZ.
I didn't want to wait for the announcement of the Turkish super team, because I am a support, and I like team play, I also want to be effective, without official matches I could not do this. I only had to play FPL.
In addition, xfl0ud said that the Turkish team did not buy out the contract of their compatriot from GORILLAZ, deciding to take ISSAA:
1-2 weeks before the announcement of Eternal Fire, XANTARES asked me if I wanted to join, he hinted about it when the project left paz. I told him that I have a contract and need to be redeemed. XANTARES told me that they would buy me out, but as soon as I sat down on the bench they did not buy me out and took ISSAA for themselves. Then I could not return to the GORILLAZ lineup, because they very quickly took HS and ritchiEE for themselves, since a bootcamp was planned in a week.
As a reminder, xfl0ud has been playing for GORILLAZ since May, joining the replacement team for EspiranTo. During this time, the 18-year-old Turkish player held two tournaments with the team, taking 9-16th place at BLAST Rising 2021, and also failed at Elisa Invitational Summer 2021, taking the penultimate place.
