North are leaving esports
North tweeted the following:
"Today is a sad day. North Esports no longer exists."
North is a collaboration between Danish football club Copenhagen and Nordisk Film, which was founded in 2017. The path of organization began with the signing of Dignitas, who won at EPICENTER and at that time occupied the 2nd place in the list of the best CS: GO teams in the world.
The history of the composition is quite rich. The team managed to please their fans five times by reaching Major tournaments, and at ELEAGUE Major Atlanta 2017 and PGL Krakow Major 2017 the team reached the top 8. During its existence, North have won several major championships, and their most solid achievement is their triumph at DreamHack Masters Stockholm 2018 with a prize pool of $ 250,000. The cash prize was $ 100,000. Last year was the worst year for North, and the roster was unable to win a single victory.
Lars Bo Jeppsen, who served as chairman of the esports club, said that the main reason was the COVID-19 pandemic, due to which the management could not find investors, and FC Copenhagen and Nordisk Film now plan to develop their business, rather than support third-party projects...
North's roster looked like this:
- Niklas Gade Gade
- Rene Cajunb Borg
- Jonas Lekr0 Olofsson
- Christopher Kristou Aamand
- Denis grux Gutay
- Philip aizy Aistrup (inactive)
- Matthias MSL Lauridsen (inactive)
- Jimmy Jumpy Berndtschon (coach)
