The MongolZ benched Senzu ahead of IEM Chengdu 2025

The MongolZ organization announced on their X account that the team’s sniper, Senzu, has been moved to the bench. It remains unknown who will take over his role. The decision came as a surprise, as the team had been showing consistent results throughout the year.

Senzu’s achievements with The MongolZ

Azbayar "Senzu" Munkhbold is a young Mongolian professional CS player who plays the sniper role. His first stint with The MongolZ began in 2022, but after only four months — without achieving notable results — he left the team. In September 2023, he rejoined the roster, and by June 2024, he and the team claimed their first trophy at MESA Nomadic Masters Spring 2024.

Although Senzu was somewhat inconsistent, he still remained among the top 10 players of the year. Over his two years with The MongolZ, he and the team achieved the following results:

  • YaLLa Compass 2024 – 1st place
  • Skyesports Championship 2024 – 2nd place
  • Thunderpick World Championship 2024 – 1st place
  • Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2025 – 3–4th place
  • PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 – 5–8th place
  • BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 – 2nd place
  • BLAST Bounty Fall 2025 – 2nd place
  • Esports World Cup 2025 – 1st place
  • FISSURE Playground #2 – 2nd place

Senzu spent two years with The MongolZ, playing 517 maps during that time. His overall stats were ADR – 79.8, KAST – 70.9%, and a rating of 1.14, showing that he was a solid performer. Another notable figure is his total prize earnings with The MongolZ, which amount to over $285,000, a remarkable result for such a young player.

Community reaction

For many fans, analysts, and other players, this sudden move came as a shock, especially since the team had been performing well:

Thour: “I have no idea what this decision is based on, but I hope it won’t ruin MongolZ supremacy.”

Moe: “Is the 22nd of October something like the 1st of April in Mongolia???”

Some fans still refuse to believe the news, as there had been no prior signs or rumors about possible roster changes.

Who will replace Senzu?

At the moment, no details have been shared regarding the reasoning behind the decision or who could potentially take over the sniper role. The current roster looks as follows:
